E3 Coverage 2009 →
I can’t wait for the E3 coverage to begin. The PSP Go has already leaked out and I’m hoping for more hardware and more great games. Worryingly the box graphics for the PSP Go looks remarkably similar to the ‘Slimline PS3’ box that leaked out a while ago and I called shenanigans, now that slimline model looks like it could be forthcoming.

Worryingly seems to be a little laggy but i still think the implementation is good and has a nice level of simplicity and constency which lets the task or the content be the focus.

Hulu VoD service launching in September? →
I sure hope so - i’ve been waiting to try out Hulu since launch. I do like how the UK competition comission sunk project kangaroo and now we are letting an American company do more or less the same thing.

Why Wolfram Alpha is bad news for the web →
Article Overview: Basically as serach engines begin to provide the answers rather than the links to the answer, what is the motivation for following a link to the site. I had unwittingly been blindly walking right down this line, as have most web users i would imagine. As a webmaster this has given me a wake up call - and anybody whos site is supported solely by advertising this is a truly...

Cory Doctorow: When love is harder to show than... →
An interesting article that highlights that copyright law is apparently skewed towards critisim than celebration. Pulling quotes for the pupose of critisism is acceptable - but as countless fans have discovered - supporting creative works you enjoy will land you with hefty penalties from the very people you are in homage! Very silly…

Spotify set to launch mobile platform →
This awesome and obvious so i imagine it will have to be hit by some sort of huge set back with telecoms networks refusing the traffic or something like that. Im sure the music industry will have something to say about this as well. Maybe they quite pleased that we are shifting to a model where we own none of the music we listen to?

This is an intresting idea - and a feature i cant belive hasnt been done before. During conference calls each persons voice will be assigned a space to come from - as in real life. Where as currently everyone sounds like they are piled up speaking through a small hole under the conferenece table. Anything to make long distance communication more human is a great thing.

My Aspire One: My experience with Ubuntu Netbook...
I made the switch a couple of days ago to linux netbook remix from the Apiires original Linux OS and i am very happy so far with the change. First impressions are that it is a much more serious looking OS compared to the original and cutesy Linux Linpus Lite that shipped with the Aspire originally. The layout is very sensibly arranged with all the applications grouped along the left side and the...

Asus Eeebox 206 vs Acer AspireRevo
Engadget has reviewed them both machines. So which makes the best (low cost) home theatre PC? It would seem that the NVIDIA Ion GPU makes the difference here, with it being the most comforatable performer with 720p and 1080p content. But, with both boxes you have to choose your formats carefully with both giving no, or poor performance using some codecs. With both PC’s commanding a...
